The United Church of Christ (UCC) is a distinct and diverse community of Christians that come together as one church to join faith and action.  With over 5,000 churches and nearly one million members across the U.S., the UCC serves God in the co-creation of a just and sustainable world.  The UCC is a church of firsts, a church of extravagant welcome, and a church where “…they may all be one” (John 17:21).

What is the Rocky Mountain Conference?

We are a faith community of 75 United Church of Christ congregations in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming who support and nurture one another in local and wider ministry and mission. The United Church of Christ is an open and welcoming denomination that proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ, celebrates diversity, honors the gifts of all people, and seeks justice and peace for everyone.


Formed in 1984, Westside CARES is an ecumenical and interfaith, nonprofit collaboration of 22 religious fellowships of the west side of El Paso County, united in care and compassion for those in need by providing crisis human services.  The only criteria for accessing services is an individual’s or family’s genuine need and their established residence within the agency’s service area.

Westside CARES collaborates with agencies throughout the metropolitan area to ensure its clients receive adequate crisis intervention services. The goal is an interdependent network of services between providers.

Westside CARES, an interfaith (21 diverse faith communities) provider of emergency human services to needy neighbors on the west side of El Paso County is seeking a Chief Executive Officer.  The detailed job description is posted HERE  on indeed.com.  This website is also the portal for sending applications to the Transitions Team.

Mesa House helps people who struggle with symptoms of mental illness, and who have a history of homelessness by providing food, shelter, and medications.

Family Mentor Alliance (FMA) provides mentoring services to families experiencing homelessness so through the sharing of practical life skills, they can move from homelessness to stable housing, and an improved quality of life.  FMA strives to promote hope and purpose to those in need through relationships that empower the family to invest in their own lives for a better future.

Originally begun at Springs Rescue Mission, the Family Mentor Alliance moved to Catholic Charities of Central Colorado in July 2016.  It is located at the Marian House Complex and is part of Catholic Charities’ Family Resource Campus where families can receive a plethora of services to help them move towards stability.

Rental Assistance
Provides community members with assistance at the onset of an eviction notice or on the brink of such a notice. Rental Assistant involves intensive case management as applicants are reviewed and followed up with through the process of working with landlords to secure housing.

Utility Assistance
Provides assistance with utility bills such as heat, electric, propane, and diesel. We are also able to provide wood to those who need it for fuel.

Medical Assistance
Provides assistance with immediate medical needs and gas vouchers to get to appointments.

Crisis Intervention
When a community member is needing an ID, birth certificate, etc. Outreach is able to assist in acquiring such documentation.
