Weddings at Broadmoor Church
Broadmoor Community Church welcomes the opportunity to host weddings for church and non-church members. Our sanctuary comfortably seats between 225 and 250 persons. The Meditation Glen, our outside garden venue, can accommodate 100 persons.
If you are interested in having your wedding at Broadmoor Church, please review the abbreviated wedding policy below and contact our Wedding Coordinator Andrea Chapman by email or at (719) 329-1133 for further information.
Reserving Your Wedding Date
Our wedding coordinator will email you a complete copy of our wedding policy and wedding reservation form, and will check the availabilty of your wedding date. If the date is available on the church calendar, you may complete the wedding reservation form and mail it to the church with a $200 refundable damage deposit.
Pre-Wedding Appointments
After your wedding date is reserved, you will be asked to contact our Office Manager Mary McInnis to schedule two pre-wedding appointments with our minister. These appointments--an hour in length--begin with an initial interview, followed by the planning of your wedding ceremony.
Officiant
An ordained minister of Broadmoor Church is required to officiate at all weddings held at the church.
Music
Our Minister of Music/ Organist Lynn Hurst needs to approve decisions made regarding wedding music. You may choose to have her play at your wedding or you may use your own musicians. The music for your wedding should be live--not recorded--and sacred in nature and theme.
Photography
No flash photography is permitted during the ceremony. Silent, non-flash photographs are permitted during the ceremony. Videotaping is permitted.
Flash photographs are permitted from the back of the sanctuary as the bride and groom enter and leave. The minister is available for restaging following the ceremony.
Fees
The non-church member fee for a sanctuary wedding is $1000 and $800 for a wedding held in the Meditation Glen. This fee covers the services of the minister, wedding coordinator, sound technician and sexton, and includes a church rental fee. You have use of the building for four hours for your wedding and an hour for your rehearsal.
A separate $200 fee is paid to our Minister of Music/ Organist if a couple chooses to use her services.
The $200 damage deposit paid at the time you reserve your wedding date is a separate fee and is refunded if no damages have been caused by the wedding, no additional cleanup fees have been applied and no extra time has been used.
Other Policies
Broadmoor Church is a smoke-free facility. No alcohol is permitted on the premises.
